Daniel Osterloo, MS, LCPC

My name is Danny Osterloo and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I earned my Master's Degree from Eastern Illinois University. I have clinical experience providing counseling in schools, the community, and a private practice setting. I have a wide range of experience, which includes working through symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, anger, identity issues, career stress, cultural issues, grief, parenting issues, children's issues, and many other every day stressors that may be encountered.

My Approach

My goal is to help people achieve as much out of life as possible. I think many times in life your full potential for happiness gets overshadowed by daily life. When I work with people I try to help them shed the layers of stress that are creating unnecessary weight. I believe that people have the strength within them to better any circumstance. I view my role as a supporting role in that I help people find and pull out the strength they need to get through any situation. When you are provided with a safe, supportive, judgement-free environment, you are able to focus more clearly on your goals and make sustainable progress.

I pull from many different counseling techniques depending on the situation, but I find myself using Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) most often. When working with adolescents, because their communication can often look different than that of an adult, I use a combination of talk therapy and play therapy. I also believe art can lead to great emotional expression so I use techniques of art therapy with both adults and children at times.

Mallory Osterloo, MA, LCPC

Hello, I am Mallory Osterloo and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. I have clinical experience working with many different ages and presenting issues. I have worked in the in-patient setting, facilitating family therapy in the home, and at a community mental health agency. My primary areas of focus have been family dynamics, depression, anxiety, anger, phase of life stressors, and attachment.

My Approach

My goal is to be a logical and fair resource that supports my clients and gives them the tools to manage their own circumstances. I believe in the client’s ability to utilize therapy in ways that feel most necessary to them. I encourage setting goals and I believe every client has the ability and inner means to optimize their lived experience. I strive to create a safe and calm environment that provides an outlet for clients, where they can feel equipped and secure in dealing with whatever life throws at them.

Depending upon the specific needs of the client and the session, I engage in many different counseling strategies. I most often start with Client-Centered Therapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When working with children and families, I often start with and build off of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
